7 RESOLUTIONS TO MAKE IN 2024 TO BE A BETTER HEALTHIER YOU!
Dec 1, 2023
1.MAKE A VOW TO SPEND 20 MINUTES 5 DAYS A WEEK DOING SOME KIND OF WORKOUT
One thing I have always maintained is to try and break a sweat each and everyday. Five of those days should be a concentrated form of exercise. Circuit training keeping your heart rate up will maximize your time in the gym and give you the best results without over training.
2. DREAM IT, WISH IT, DO IT!
Motivation comes in many forms. One of which is to visualize your goals whatever they may be. Try and stay focused, do a vision board, run your ideas by trusted colleagues and friends to bring some reality to them. Take one step at a time to make your dream a reality. Work toward your goal everyday by doing one thing that gets you closer to it. Stay on track and 2015 could see you achieving that dream.
3. VALUE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY
Appreciate your family, friends, and colleagues for who they are, what they mean to you and others, and to gracefully overlook some things they do (or don’t do). None of us is perfect and accepting that reality helps relationships flourish.
Actively listen to the voices of children and elders. Accepting the wisdom of innocence and experience is both free and priceless
4. APPROACH EVERYTHING YOU DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL BEST
To be a valuable teammate and to trust others to do their best. Each of us should know what position we play, and regularly practice our skills to be our personal best. Accept that you don’t know everything. By collaborating with others who know much more, together you can create a great brain trust and blend expertise
5. RECOGNIZE YOUR UNHEALTHY HABITS AND TAKE STEPS TO GET RID OF THEM
Whether it’s smoking, drinking excessively, abusing drugs, lack of exercise, getting too little sleep, or being overweight, admitting them and starting to reverse them is important to living a full and active life. If it’s food start by elimating your trigger foods. Start a program with clean eating, slowly and surly change your bad eating habits to good ones. Know whatever it is you have the power to make a change for the better!
6. LIVE IN THE MOMENT: PRACTICE MINDFULNESS
Many of us schedule our every move, and then obsess over sticking to the plan. Few people allow room to improvise or to simply be still. Learning to be mindful – putting your attention on the present, rather than thinking about the past or planning for the future – can relieve stress, improve sleep, lower blood pressure and improve overall well-being.
7. BE KIND TO YOURSELF
Be kind to yourself. Above all else, remember that it’s OK to make mistakes along the way. Be kind to yourself – the process of making improvements to our daily routines is a marathon, not a sprint. Self-love can go a long way toward a healthier lifestyle.
